Police in Visalia are investigating a homicide after a woman was found unresponsive inside a car Friday night.

Officers were called around 8:01 p.m. to the former Tulare County Sheriff’s Office headquarters on West Burrel Avenue for a medical emergency under suspicious circumstances, the Visalia Police Department said.

When officers arrived, they found the woman inside a vehicle and performed CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

A man who was also at the scene was detained as detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
