Two people were arrested Tuesday after a theft at a Valero gas station in Madera County, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the 22 Mile House Valero at Highway 41 and Road 208 after receiving a report of stolen merchandise, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities quickly located a suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Highway 41 and Avenue 15, where all stolen property was recovered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mario Amal, 33, of Fresno, was arrested on suspicion of theft, narcotics possession and outstanding warrants. Danielle Hurt, 25, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were booked into the Madera County Jail.
