Pedestrian Critically Injured in Visalia Hit-and-Run

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday in Visalia, police said.

Officers responded around 2:08 a.m. to Santa Fe Street and Kaweah Avenue, where they found a person lying in the roadway with major injuries, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Kaweah Health Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

Police said the driver involved fled the scene before officers arrived.

The department’s Traffic Unit is investigating and is asking anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle involved to contact Visalia police at (559) 734-8117.
