The Fresno Police Department will conduct a traffic safety operation on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., targeting driver behaviors that endanger people walking or biking.

Officers will focus on violations such as speeding, making illegal turns, failing to yield to pedestrians or bicyclists, and ignoring stop signs or signals.

Fresno Police Advise Pedestrians, Drivers

Pedestrians are advised to use crosswalks when available, be aware of approaching vehicles, avoid stepping into traffic suddenly, and enhance visibility by wearing light or reflective clothing and carrying a flashlight.

Drivers are urged to obey speed limits, slow at intersections, and be prepared to stop for pedestrians at both marked and unmarked crosswalks.

The operation is part of an ongoing effort to reduce crashes and injuries involving people walking and biking in Fresno.
