The AMOR Wellness Center in Mendota will mark its five-year anniversary Thursday with a free community celebration and resource fair offering food, games, raffles and family-friendly activities for residents.

The event, scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. at 115 Belmont Ave., will feature more than 20 booths hosted by local organizations providing information on health, education, and other community resources. Attendees can enjoy freshly grilled food, a bounce house, a 30-foot slide, music from a DJ, and raffles for children and adults.

“Families often visit AMOR Wellness in moments of need — seeking emergency food, diapers, or vital support services,” said Stephanie Franco, Rural Program Supervisor at AMOR Wellness. “This celebration is a chance for them to simply enjoy the day as a family — sharing a warm meal, playing carnival games, dancing to music from our DJ, and learning about new programs and services available in their community.”

Since opening in 2020, the center has become a hub for Mendota and surrounding rural communities, providing access to healthy food, primary healthcare, social services, and education to thousands of residents each year.

The AMOR Wellness Center is a project of Alliance for Medical Outreach & Relief, a Fresno-based nonprofit that also supports medical and humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan and Ukraine. The anniversary celebration is free and open to the public.
