A 26-year-old Fresno man was arrested Sunday following a dangerous high-speed motorcycle chase that began Sept. 5 on Highway 168 and local streets in Clovis, the Clovis Police Department announced.
Authorities said the motorcyclist, riding a green Kawasaki, fled from California Highway Patrol and Clovis Police officers multiple times at speeds exceeding 130 mph.
Both agencies ended their pursuits to avoid further danger, but teamwork between CHP-Fresno, the Clovis Police Department, and the Clovis PD Real-Time Information Center led to the suspect’s identification.
Chaise Stonacek was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges including two felony counts of evading, violation of probation, and driving on a suspended license. His motorcycle was impounded.
Law enforcement agencies urge drivers to call 911 if they witness reckless driving.
