The Washington Commanders travel to take on the Green Bay Packers in a Thursday night battle between two playoff teams that were eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Both teams are coming off dominating defensive games in their openers, as Green Bay handled the Detroit Lions while the Commanders held the New York Giants without a touchdown.

The Packers are favored by 3 1/2 points, slightly more than their home field is worth in a game that will be streamed on Amazon Prime.

Commanders vs Packers Predictions

The line: Packers 26, Bills 22. With a line of 3 1/2 points and an over-under of 48, Green Bay is expected to win 26-22.

The Arizona Republic: Packers 27, Commanders 23

Jeremy Cluff writes: “Both of these teams impressed in Week 1, but the Packers really impressed in their win over the Detroit Lions. An efficient Jordan Love (16-for-22, 188 yards, 2 TDs vs Detroit) makes Green Bay tough to beat, especially at Lambeau.”

Bookies.com: Bet the Commanders With the Points vs Packers

Bill Speros writes: “NFL sophomore QB Jayden Daniels draws a difficult road test in Week 2. But he’ll have a very rich and happy Terry McLaurin catching the ball. Both teams reached the playoffs last year. This is the sort of game that could well end up determining home field if these teams end up meeting as wild cards in the playoffs. The Commanders carry the oldest roster in the NFL this season and should be ready for a Packers team that is the youngest in the league – boosted by Micah Parsons. His acquisition and Green Bay’s win over Detroit moved this line a 2-points in Green Bay’s favor.”

Sports Betting Dime: Packers 26, Commanders 21.4

The site’s formula predicts that the Packers will win the NFL Week 2 game against the Commanders.

ESPN: Packers Have a 58.6% Chance to Beat Commanders on Thursday

The site gives the Commanders a 41.1% shot at winning the NFL Week 2 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.

Dimers: Packers 26, Commanders 23

It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Commanders a win probability of 41%, while the Packers have a win probability of 59%.”

Sportsnaut: Packers 27, Commanders 23

Matt Johnson writes: “The Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders both won convincingly in Week 1, albeit against very different quality of competition. On a short week, Washington is the healthier team as Green Bay could potentially be without corner Nate Hobbs, tackle Zach Tom, and guard Aaron Banks in Week 2. However, the Packers’ defense also showed a greater willingness to play Micah Parsons more than expected in the season opener. This should be one of the best NFL games in Week 2, with Daniels better able to evade pressure than Jared Goff was. However, Green Bay pulls out the win in the end.”
