Firefighters have achieved 60% containment on the Salt 14-2 Fire, which has burned 25,580 acres in Fresno and Monterey counties since igniting Sept. 2, officials said Wednesday.

The wildfire, located near Jacalitos Creek Road in Coalinga, remains under investigation, and no structures have been reported destroyed or damaged.

Temperatures are expected to be seasonably cool Wednesday with moderate humidity, and scattered showers could develop in the afternoon. Fire crews are continuing to build containment lines and mop up remaining hot spots.

Evacuations Orders, Warnings, and Road Closures

Evacuation orders remain in effect for zones P18B2, P18B3, P24B2, P25, P27A1, and P28. Evacuation warnings are in place for zones P18B1, P24B1, P27A2, and MRY-G041-A.

Road closures include full closures at Parkfield Grade on Highway 198 and Jacalitos Creek Road at West Lost Hills Road, with some areas restricted to residents only.

A total of 1,572 personnel are assigned to the fire, supported by 84 engines, 52 water tenders, 6 helicopters, 25 dozers, and 42 hand crews.

Air tankers from across the state are conducting fire suppression missions as conditions allow.
