The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office announced charges Tuesday in a shooting at Sebby’s in Visalia that left one adult dead and another injured.
Raymond Vasquez, 20, was charged with murder with the special allegation of intentional use of a firearm causing great bodily injury.
Eduardo Moreno Torres, 20, faces charges of attempted murder with the special allegation of intentional use of a firearm causing great bodily injury, and assault with a firearm with the special allegation of causing great bodily injury.
Both men pleaded not guilty at an afternoon arraignment and are being held without bail, the DA’s office said.
Vasquez is scheduled to return to court Sept. 16, while Torres will return Sept. 30.
If convicted, both could face life in prison.
About the Incident
Police said the shooting occurred early Saturday inside Sebby’s, a business near Main and Garden streets, after a fight broke out.
Officers responded around 1:43 a.m. and found multiple people had been shot.
The victims were transported to a local hospital, where one later died, police reported Saturday.
