A man in his 50s was flown to a hospital in critical condition after being stabbed Monday afternoon at a home in San Joaquin, authorities said.

Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:30 p.m. to a residence near Annabella Avenue and 4th Street, where they found the man with severe stab wounds.

He was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center.

Investigators determined the man was assaulted by a family member, who fled before deputies arrived.

Authorities said they have information on the suspect and are working to locate and arrest him.
