Firefighters have contained the forward spread of the Marmon Fire north of Huron, CalFire said Wednesday.

The wildfire, which started Tuesday near South Lassen and Marmon avenues, has burned 1,034 acres in Fresno County.

Containment was at 67% Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Fire crews remained on scene throughout the day, reinforcing containment lines and addressing hot spots to ensure the fire stayed within established boundaries.

Officials said the updated acreage reflects more accurate mapping rather than additional growth.

Two engines and one other firefighting resource were assigned to the blaze, along with six personnel.

Air tankers from across California conducted fire suppression missions as conditions allowed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
