A semi truck crash early Saturday morning left one driver seriously injured, according to the Visalia Police Department.

At approximately 1:47 a.m., officers responded to a collision at Riggin Avenue and Plaza Drive involving two semi trucks.

Investigators said an Amazon semi traveling west on Riggin Avenue ran a red light at Plaza Drive and collided with a northbound semi.

The driver of the Amazon truck was pinned inside his vehicle but was safely extricated by the Visalia Fire Department. He was transported to Kaweah Health with serious injuries. The driver of the second semi was not hurt.

The Visalia Police Department’s Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation.
