Three people were hospitalized after the driver of a stolen vehicle led police on a chase and crashed into a building, the Tulare Police Department said Thursday.

A patrol officer received an alert about the possible stolen car.

By the time dispatch confirmed the report, the driver had temporarily eluded officers.

The vehicle was later located with one occupant, who failed to stop for police and ran multiple stop signs while driving at varying speeds.

The stolen vehicle collided with a car and struck a pedestrian before coming to rest inside a building at 401 W. Inyo Ave., police said.

The pedestrian, the driver of the passing vehicle, and the suspect were all transported to the hospital for treatment.

After being medically cleared, the suspect was taken to the county jail.
