Madera County authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate the family of a Michael Varela, 68, of Coarsegold, who died last month. (Madera County SO)

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the next of kin for a 68-year-old Coarsegold man who died last month.

Officials said Michael Varela was found dead at his home on July 23.

Despite efforts, investigators have not been able to find any relatives.
