A Fresno man was sentenced Wednesday to 53 years to life in state prison for committing lewd acts involving three minors over a six-year span, according to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.

Salvador Reyna, 44, was convicted June 25 of four counts of committing lewd acts with a child, following a nearly two-month jury trial.

Judge Jonathan B. Conklin of the Fresno County Superior Court imposed the sentence, which includes a determinate term of three years and an indeterminate term of 50 years to life.

The judge also found two sentencing enhancements to be true.

The abuse occurred between the fall of 2008 and the summer of 2014, prosecutors said.

During that time, Reyna used grooming tactics and deception to manipulate his victims, providing them with alcohol or sedatives and using blindfolds to conceal his actions. In one case, a victim awoke to Reyna inappropriately touching her.

Authorities said Reyna disguised the abuse as games or innocent tasks to gain the victims’ trust.

Eligible for Parole After 20 Years

Although sentenced to 53 years to life, Reyna will be eligible for elderly parole after serving a minimum of 20 years.

“This sentence ensures Reyna will be held accountable for the harm he caused and serves as a reminder that the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office will continue to aggressively prosecute those who target and exploit children,” said District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp in a statement. “We are grateful to the brave victims who came forward and to the law enforcement professionals who worked tirelessly to bring justice in this case.”
