An online date took a dangerous turn when a driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase that ended in a rollover crash, authorities reported Wednesday.

The incident began on Highway 99, where the driver failed to stop for officers and fled at speeds over 100 mph, according to CHP.

The pursuit ended near Avenue 7 in Madera County after the driver, who was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs, lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Both occupants sustained only minor injuries.

The driver was arrested at the scene.
