A man accused in a series of sexual battery cases and a fatal assault in Visalia has been arrested in Alaska, police said Thursday.
Visalia Police detectives identified Adrian Hernandez Medrano, 20, as the suspect in five sexual battery cases between 2023 and 2025, including a June 2025 attack near Oval Park in which a woman was physically assaulted and later died from her injuries.

Authorities said Medrano’s pattern of behavior and description matched earlier cases from 2023. The cases were investigated by the department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
Detectives executed search warrants in Visalia and discovered Medrano had fled the state. With help from Alaska State Troopers and the Soldotna Police Department, detectives located and arrested him last week in the Kenai area.
Medrano was booked into a county jail in Alaska and is awaiting extradition to Tulare County.
He faces multiple charges of sexual battery and one count of homicide.
