Fresno Unified School District is holding free immunization clinics this August to assist students in obtaining the immunizations necessary for school.
The school year is less than a month away and all students must meet state immunization requirements. Those entering kindergarten and seventh grade must provide proof of updated immunizations, according to Fresno Unified.
Appointments aren’t needed for the clinics and attendees will be served in order of arrival. Some clinics will only serve a limited number of students per day.
These clinics are available for those on Medi-Cal or lacking health insurance. Students with insurance should contact their medical provider or pharmacies for vaccinations.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany attendees and bring the student’s immunization record and Medi-Cal card.
For kindergarten entry, students need to be up to date on polio, diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (Dtap), mumps, measles and rubella (MMR), hepatitis B, and varicella vaccines.
Students entering seventh grade must show proof of current vaccination against pertussis (whooping cough) and have a second varicella immunization.
Immunization Clinic Times and Locations
The first immunization clinic will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Gaston Middle School Health and Wellness Center. Anyone with further questions can contact Sierra Vista at Gaston at (833) 678-2781.
Herrera Elementary School United Health Center will hold a clinic on Monday, Aug. 11, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The United Health Clinic at Herrera can be reached at (800) 492-4227.
