Man Arrested for Assault with Mallet During Argument in Visalia, Victim Hospitalized

A man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly striking another man in the head with a rubber mallet during an argument, Visalia police said.

Officers responded around 6:09 a.m. to a reported assault at a home in the 2000 block of North Turner Street.

When they arrived, they found a man with minor head injuries.

Police say the victim was hit multiple times with a rubber mallet during a dispute with Paul Marquez, 34.

The victim was taken to Kaweah Health for treatment.

Marquez was arrested at the scene and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
