French President Emmanuel Macron called on the UK to support recognition of a Palestinian state and bolster aid to Ukraine during a rare address to British Parliament Tuesday, part of his historic state visit — the first by an EU leader since Brexit, Al Jazeera reported.

Macron urged joint action on defense, climate, and reducing reliance on the U.S. and China.

King Charles welcomed Macron to Windsor Castle, dubbing the new relationship an “entente amicale.”

The visit included EDF’s £1.1B UK investment and cultural exchanges. Macron meets PM Keir Starmer Wednesday to discuss migration, security, and post-Brexit cooperation.
