A fast-moving vegetation fire burned through 20 acres and destroyed multiple structures north of Reedley on Wednesday afternoon, according to CalFire.
Crews responded just before 2:30 p.m. to the area of Jefferson Avenue between Columbia and Buttonwillow avenues.
The first engine on scene reported 2 to 3 acres burning with multiple structures threatened. High winds and dense vegetation caused the fire to grow rapidly, CalFire said.
A mobile home, RV, and two outbuildings were destroyed, but firefighters were able to save several other nearby structures.
The fire was brought under control at 20 acres, fire officials said. The cause is under investigation.
Agencies assisting with the response included Selma City Fire, Sanger Fire, Kings County Fire, Tulare County Fire, Orange Cove Fire, Reedley Fire Department, and Clovis Fire Department, CalFire reported.
