A Riverdale High School track and field coach has been arrested on suspicion of arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Martin Munguia, 31, of Lemoore, was taken into custody by the school’s assigned resource deputy and booked into Fresno County Jail. His bail was set at $30,000, which he later posted, leading to his release.
Authorities launched an investigation on Wednesday after a deputy was alerted to sexually explicit digital messages allegedly sent by Munguia to a teenage student. Munguia also works as a computer technician for the Riverdale Joint Union School District.
Based on evidence collected, the deputy arrested Munguia, who has since been placed on paid administrative leave. The school district is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
