A news website from Valley Children’s Healthcare will focus on the kids, families, physicians, and staff at the Madera hospital.
The hospital on Tuesday announced the launch of The Pulse, which will deliver original stories about pediatric health news, innovations, community impact, and expert voices about Valley Children’s.
“In a world where information moves fast and trust matters more than ever, The Pulse gives us a chance to slow down and tell stories that truly make a difference,” said Valley Children’s Managing Editor Brandon Johansen. “We’re not just reporting, we’re connecting. It is an honor to focus on the kids and families we serve.”
The Pulse to ‘Support and Enhance’ Journalism in the Central Valley
The stories will help “support and enhance” the work of journalists throughout the region, according to the news release. It will also encourage families to share their own stories.
Stories currently on The Pulse tell stories about the garden outside the hospital, a global partnership with an Armenian hospital, and new resident physicians.
“By inviting our community to share story ideas — particularly those centered on kids’ health and wellness — we will ensure their voices, experiences and perspectives are reflected in the stories we tell,” Johansen said. “It is one more way Valley Children’s is furthering our commitment to the health of kids in the Central Valley.”
