Three people were arrested Friday morning after Visalia police found them asleep in a stolen vehicle containing a loaded, stolen gun and fentanyl, authorities said.
At about 8:23 a.m., detectives from the Tulare County Regional Auto Theft Task Force located the vehicle on Kent Street, just south of Goshen Avenue.
Inside were Brian Harris, 34, Latoya Chappelle, 34, and Rashod Neal, 18.
Police said Harris, who was sitting on a loaded, stolen firearm, ran from the scene but was caught after a brief chase. Officers said they found fentanyl inside the car and on Harris.
All three suspects were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, firearm offenses, and narcotics violations.
Harris, who is on parole for first-degree robbery, also faces charges for resisting arrest, a felony robbery warrant, a misdemeanor warrant for delaying a peace officer, and a parole hold.
Chappelle is also wanted on two felony warrants for false impersonation and a misdemeanor shoplifting warrant, police said.
