A wildfire burning near Raymond Road and Avenue 16 in Madera County has prompted evacuation warnings and road closures, authorities said Monday.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation warnings for zones MAD-E1419, MAD-E1421, MAD-E1425, and MAD-E0049.

Residents are urged to leave early if they feel threatened, particularly those who need extra time to evacuate or have pets or livestock.

A hard road closure is in effect on Highway 145 between Story Road and Road 29, and authorities are asking drivers to plan alternate routes. Smoke may reduce visibility in the area and slow emergency response efforts.

The sheriff’s office is urging residents to “Know Your Zone” by visiting MaderaAware.com.
