On this week’s Wired Wednesday, GV Wire senior reporter David Taub talks with KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Karl Cooke about the status of Measure C for the 2026 ballot.

Measure C is a Fresno County half-cent sales tax measure that funds transportation projects and repairs.

In 2006, voters renewed Measure C for another 20 years. Combined with state and federal grants, Measure C has generated more than $10 billion for transportation since its inception in 1987.

It’s possible that two competing versions will end up on the ballot and it’s not yet clear whether the tax would need two-thirds or majority voter support to pass.

A previous renewal attempt generated 58% support in 2022, well short of the two-thirds required in that election for adoption.
