The Fresno Police Department arrested nine drivers on suspicion of DUI on Sunday, authorities announced in a Tuesday news release.

Authorities want to remind the public that drivers convicted of a first-time DUI offense face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with a suspended license.

Police plan to hold another DUI enforcement operation on Saturday, Feb. 22, and will conduct additional patrols and checkpoints throughout the year in an effort to keep roadways safe.
