A Visalia man was arrested near the intersection of Center Avenue and Hall Street on Monday after an investigation into the possession of child pornography, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

Visalia police said they received a tip on Feb. 6 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a local resident downloading the material.

Detectives later identified Adam Lopez, 26, of Visalia, as the suspect.
He was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on charges of possessing obscene images of minors, authorities said.
