The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating relatives of a deceased man, authorities said in a statement on Friday.

Jose Manuel Medina, 59, died in a Fresno hospital, and efforts to identify or contact his immediate family have been unsuccessful.

Medina is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

The Coroner’s Office has searched personal records but has been unable to locate Medina’s relatives.

Establishing contact with immediate family is necessary to release the body and ensure Medina receives a proper burial, authorities said.

Anyone with information about Medina is urged to contact the Coroner’s Unit at (559) 600-3400 or via email at coroner@fresnosheriff.org.
