Eight people were arrested and four firearms were seized in a citywide operation Thursday morning, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

The targeted enforcement involved compliance checks at 29 locations, spearheaded by the department’s Violent Crimes, Special Enforcement, Property Crimes, Narcotics, and Youth Services units.
Among those arrested, David Casarez, 18, faces charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale, conspiracy, and maintaining a place for drug activity. Authorities seized a handgun, cocaine packaged for sale, and marijuana in connection with his arrest.
Other arrests include Juan Rivera, 20, and Luis Arredondo, 18, both charged with conspiracy and drug possession. Bobby Lee, 36, was charged with child endangerment and parole violation; police recovered a controlled substance during his arrest.

Significant weapons seizures also occurred. Daniel Flores, 27, and Jimmy Briones III, 28, were arrested for firearm, parole, and ammunition violations. Briones was found with a loaded 9mm handgun and rifle ammunition.
The operation also led to the arrests of Armando Arellano, 47, for carrying a loaded firearm in public, and Andrew Leyba, 20, who faces multiple charges including resisting arrest and destruction of evidence. Cocaine packaged for sale, cash, and packaging materials were seized during Leyba’s arrest.
