Police Investigate Shooting Death in Southwest Fresno

Markazsa Perry, 31, was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said in a news release.

Officers were dispatched near the intersection of Samson and Lee avenues around 4:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting victim, the authorities said.

Officers found Perry suffering from a gunshot wound.

Perry was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead shortly after arrival, police said.

Homicide detectives have launched an investigation but have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.

Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Fresno Police Department.
