Fresno DUI Suspect Arrested After Wrong-Way Crash Leaves Two Injured

A DUI wrong-way driver, nearly four times the legal limit, who caused a crash on Freeway 41 that left two people injured was arrested, the California Highway Patrol said in a statement Friday morning.

The driver entered the freeway heading directly into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle, according to officials.

A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed the incident and attempted to warn other drivers, but the crash occurred before the wrong-way vehicle could be stopped.

The suspect, a repeat DUI offender, was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail. His identity wasn’t revealed by authorities.
