Donald Henderson, 30, of Fresno, is facing federal charges after a grand jury indicted him on being a felon in possession of ammunition, U.S. Attorney Phillip Talbert announced Thursday.

Henderson allegedly arranged to sell a rifle to an undercover officer in Clovis on Sept. 4.

According to court documents, the plan quickly unraveled as Henderson got into a vehicle and led officers on a high-speed chase.

During the pursuit, he reportedly tossed a loaded, privately manufactured “ghost gun” from the vehicle.

The weapon was equipped with a high-capacity magazine, authorities said.

If convicted, Henderson could face up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This case is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods program, a federal effort aimed at curbing violent crime and gun violence.
