Merced Police arrested John Flores, 27, on Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy last month, according to the Merced Police Department.

Officers took Flores into custody at a residence near the intersection of La Habra Street and East Mission Avenue after executing a search warrant.
Flores, who was already under community supervision following a previous release, is now facing homicide charges for the Sept. 9 shooting that occurred near the intersection of West North Bear Creek and Shadowbrook drives.
