The San Francisco SPCA, SNIP Bus, and Fresno Humane Animal Services are partnering to provide spay/neuter services to local pets, addressing overcrowding conditions at the animal shelter.

The SNIP Bus will offer these services at Fresno Humane, funded through California for All Animals, a program aimed at ending euthanasia for adoptable animals. Fresno Humane is located at  1510 W. Dan Ronquillo Drive.

“Mobile spay/neuter solutions, like SNIP Bus, are the only way to control animal overpopulation,” said Melanie Scherer, executive director of SNIP Bus. “We can go directly to the highest intake areas to provide accessible and affordable surgeries.”

Due to a statewide shortage of veterinary professionals, many California areas lack veterinary care.

This collaboration aims to combat the pressing issue of animal overpopulation in Fresno, which has the highest animal intake rate per capita in California, according to the SF SPCA.
