Fresno County Supervisor Sal Quintero said he’s in favor of “some form” of rent control at his Oct. 3 debate with Luis Chavez.
Chavez, a Fresno City Councilmember challenging Quintero for the District 3 seat, said that he opposes rent control because it makes it more difficult to build badly needed housing.

Proposition 33, which is on the Nov. 5 ballot, would empower local governments to enact rent control while forbidding the state from having any say on the matter.
