Eddie, a 15-pound senior poodle, has been with Mell’s Mutts for several years, and despite his long stay, he’s still waiting for his perfect forever home.
At around 12 or 13 years old — maybe even older — Eddie’s had his share of challenges, but he’s come out stronger each time.
When Eddie was first found, he had painful sores on both sides of his stomach. Initially suspected to be injuries from an attack, his condition worsened over several months.
After careful consideration, Mell’s Mutts decided to pursue surgery, and it turned out to be life-saving — it was cancer.

Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and Eddie has fully recovered, with the cancer now gone.

Though Eddie’s age is catching up to him — he’s almost completely blind in one eye and slowly losing vision in the other — his zest for life remains.
He adores people and believes everyone is his best friend, but unfortunately, he’s not fond of other dogs.

Mell’s Mutts knows finding the perfect home for Eddie will be a challenge. Ideally, his future family would be a retired household where someone is home throughout the day to shower him with love.
Despite his age, Eddie remains energetic and healthy, with the potential to enjoy several more years of companionship.

Prospective adopters must submit an adoption application for review to ensure the best match for each pup.
