Central Valley farming operations face unprecedented challenges created by low commodity prices, high interest rates, rising operational costs, and decreased water supply.

Darius Assemi

The Assemi farming group has not been able to avoid these challenges. And, after months of effort and good-faith negotiations by all parties, two banks could not agree on a financial restructuring. However, we’re still hopeful a resolution can be achieved.

In football terms, we’re at the 1-yard-line but disagree on the remaining technical details.

I have been involved in my family’s farming business mainly on the public policy side, dealing with issues such as water. I have not had an active role in the financial aspects of the farming business.

Granville Homes Is Independent of Assemi Farming

You need to know what is happening on the farming side does not affect Granville Homes, which I own and lead independently of my family’s farming interests.

The business model of Granville Homes runs differently than many other businesses, including farms. We will continue to build and sell our award-winning homes with the attention to detail that our more than 7,500 homeowners have come to expect.

In addition, the Granville Home of Hope is not affected by the farming challenges.

Every penny raised in ticket sales for this opportunity to win a new home at Parc West will be given to nonprofit groups providing food, shelter, health care, and education to the underserved. Just as this Granville Homes effort has done since 2006 while raising $8.4 million.

We’re planning and expecting to raise more proceeds benefiting the community through the Granville Home of Hope for many years to come.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time for us.
