A man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a gathering in Fresno on Tuesday night, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Officers from the Central Policing District responded to the 3700 block of North Abby Avenue shortly before 9:45 p.m. after two ShotSpotter activations, authorities said.

When officers arrived, they found Sylvester Choi, 35, a Bay Area resident who frequently visited Fresno, unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Despite efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel, he died at the scene.

A 20-year-old woman was also found with a graze wound to her leg and was released after receiving first aid.

A third shooting victim, a 30-year-old man, was dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center. He had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body but was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

Investigators believe Choi and the two other victims were attending a gathering when an unknown suspect opened fire on the group, striking all three.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
