A variety of exciting events are on the menu this weekend to satisfy fans of country, comedy, and sports.

Boots in the Park at Woodward Park returns with country superstar Jason Aldean. The Fresno State football team is at home for a nonconference game against New Mexico State, which it pounded back in December in the New Mexico Bowl.

Andrew Santino, who leads a roster of comedians performing in the Fresno area this weekend, is at Table Mountain Casino. Meanwhile, over at Eagle Mountain Casino, you can watch the San Francisco 49ers play and attend an R&B concert.

Boots in the Park

ā€œBoots In The Parkā€ returns to the lawn at Woodward Park on Friday with headliner Jason Aldean, along with Ian Munsick, Chase Matthew, Joe Peters and Luwiss Lux. Itā€™ll be a full afternoon and night of live country music, craft food and cocktails, line dancing, interactive art installations, and more. This event is very popular; it’s been going eight years strong.

Aldean has received five Grammy Award nominations throughout his career, twice for Best Country Album. 27 of Aldean’s 38 singles have reached No. 1 on either the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts. A personal favorite is the tune “Dirt Road Anthem.” Last year, he released “Try That in a Small Town” and it became his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

The event sponsors are Sanger Chevrolet Buick GMC, Bud Light, Marines, Mixed Drinks Buzzballz, and Michelob Ultra. The Finnish Long Drink is providing a VIP lounge where you can sample their unique beverages. Bust out the cowboy hat and boots and have a good olā€™ time.

Andrew Santino

Andrew Santino will deliver his raucous comedy at Table Mountain Casino on Saturday with his stand-up routine. Santino is also an actor and podcaster. He’s appeared in several television series and films.

His name is on the rise not only in the comedy world but in the entertainment industry as well. In 2017, he released a Showtime special called “Home Field Advantage” that can also be seen on Amazon Prime. His 2023 special “Cheeseburger” premiered on Netflix.

Fresno State Football vs New Mexico State

Fresno State football returns this Saturday at Valley Children’s Stadium. The team looks to capture a back-to-back victory over the New Mexico State Aggies.

They last played each other in the 2023 Isleta New Mexico Bowl where the Bulldogs beat them. It was interim head coach Tim Skipper’s first time on the sideline in that role.

Saturday’s game is Heroes Night, celebrating all active-duty military and veterans, first responders, and various heroes throughout the Central Valley. It’s Fresno State’s first game that’ll be broadcast on truTV/MAX this season.

This is the ninth series meeting in Fresno, where the Bulldogs are 8-0 against the Aggies. Fresno State has won 19 out of their 20 meetings.

Notorious Tattoo Expo

The Notorious Tattoo Expo is the first tattoo expo to take place in Visalia. It’ll be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Convention Center. They’re hosting over 100 booths and 100+ tattoo artists from the U.S. and around the world in a family-friendly environment.

There’s competitions and workshops. Radio personality Bec from Rock 105.1 will host the event.

Get immersed in the colorful and vibrant world of tattoos, browse unique flash designs, and maybe even get some fresh ink.

Bang Bang Niner Gang Watch Party & Concert

Enjoy a day of football and live music on Sunday at Eagle Mountain Casino.

Watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Minnesota Vikings with local fans. Then there’s a live concert featuring Baby Bash, Frankie J and The Original Mary Jane Girls, Maxi & Cheri.

‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ ā€” Special Screening, Friday

The Tower Theatre will hold a special screening of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” on Friday. Celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary. The film stars Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, and directed by Michel Gondry.

Wine Down Fridays at Toca Madera Winery, Friday

Wine Down Fridays continues every Friday through Sept. 27 at Toca Madera Winery. Enjoy performances from Danielle Rondero and the Nitty Gritty, JPEG Sessions, and Sydnie Brazile. Taqueria Gonzalez will provide food, and wine specials and a sangria happy hour will be available. Remember to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for a relaxing evening.

Grupo Firme performs at Save Mart Center on Friday. They’re a regional Mexican band that specializes in Sinaloan music. They won their first Latin Grammy for Best Banda Album for their album “Nos Divertimos Lo Grando Lo Imposible.”

Indian Slice of Comedy Headlining Kabir Singh & Friends, Saturday

Stand-up comedian Kabir Singh and friends will perform at DiCiccoā€™s Old Town Clovis on Friday. Singh appeared on “America’s Got Talent.” He’s had specials on Amazon Prime. His YouTube Dry Bar Special, ā€œStay Single,ā€ has been one of the best-reviewed Comedy Specials on the platform with over 3 million views.

ApCal Rock’n Ranch, Saturday
