Tim Finegan, president of Finegan Dealer Group, said he’s been working on the deal to acquire Fresno Infiniti for the past four months as the previous owner, Harris Automotive Group, wanted to get out of the car business.

The Finegan Dealer Group, which owns Fresno Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Clovis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, has brought the Infiniti dealership under its umbrella. The Business Journal first reported the news.

Finegan will move the Infiniti dealership from the Palm and Herndon avenue area to next door to its dealerships on Blackstone Avenue.

With the long history of Fresno Infiniti, Finegan said it was important to keep the dealership in business.

“We didn’t want to see it going away,” Finegan said. “You’ve got 20 years of service customers out there on the road, so they need to be taken care of, and we’re going to make that happen for them, as well as put some new retail on the street.”

Infiniti Purchase Adds Imports to Finegan Portfolio

Finegan calls himself a “hands-on” dealer. He’s at his dealerships six or seven days a week, he said.

They kept on most, if not all of the sales team, Finegan said.

“It’s going to give us another source of retailing automobiles,” Finegan said. “We’ve never had imports before besides Fiat, and now we can have Infiniti. It’s got a long history here in Fresno.”

The team is painting and remodeling the new facility in anticipation of the cars. Finegan said the 2025 models should be coming in the next three months.

Auto sales have been suffering with high interest rates, Finegan said. He said after a 12-year positive run, it was time for a downturn. But he anticipates a turnaround soon.

“I’ve been a dealer for over 50 years,” Finegan said. “We know what we’re doing, we have great people that work for us. It’s a family affair. I’ve got my wife, my two sons, plus I’ve got employees that have been with me for 35, 40 years. You know, it’s kind of exciting.”
