Natalie Caples, co-CEO of Central California Food Bank, will be the guest of Rep. Jim Costa (D-Fresno) at President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address on Thursday night.
Caples has been with the food bank since 2008. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her team stepped up to provide immediate hunger relief to more than 350,000 families — including nearly 120,000 children — monthly.
And, as a member of Feeding America, she advocates on behalf of families who need food and other resources to thrive.
How to View the State of the Union Address
You can find the State of the Union on all major networks, which will carry it live. It will also be streamed online by the White House and The Associated Press. The speech starts at 6 p.m. PT.
Republican Response
The opposing party traditionally responds to the president’s speech. This year, Republicans chose Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama. At 41 years old, she’s the youngest female senator and some GOP leaders believe she is a rising political star.
