In a surprising turn of events, OpenAI has dismissed its CEO, Sam Altman, following a comprehensive review by the board.

The board’s decision was based on Altman’s lack of transparency in his interactions with them, which they believe impeded their ability to fulfill their duties.

“The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,” the company stated in a blog post.

Mira Murati, the current CTO, will step in as the interim CEO while the company searches for a replacement. OpenAI has yet to comment on the matter.

This development comes as a shock, especially considering Altman’s recent keynote speech at the company’s DevDay conference. During the event, OpenAI unveiled a series of significant updates aimed at competing with tech giants like Microsoft and Google.

OpenAI, co-founded by Altman and Elon Musk, has been a major player in the AI industry, particularly with the success of its ChatGPT last year.
