Police are remaining on two campuses Monday afternoon after a threat directed at Clovis West High School led to shelter-in-place orders Monday afternoon for the northeast Fresno high school and the nearby elementary school, Fort Washington.
Students at both schools were kept indoors on the second day of school while law enforcement officials investigated the threat, Clovis Unified reported. A suspicious phone call directed at the high school had been made to local law enforcement.
Although the phone call was similar to noncredible phone calls received in the past, the district kept students indoors out of an “abundance of caution” until investigators determined there was no credible threat at the high school campus, the district said.
The shelter in place was ended in less than an hour.
