Donald Trump is the self-proclaimed leader of the America First movement.

Except when it comes to American sports. Or any American who stands up to his bullying ways.

The former president taunted the U.S. women’s soccer team and captain Megan Rapinoe after an early exit from the World Cup on Sunday.

Following America’s loss on penalty kicks to Sweden in the knockout round, Trump wrote on his social media platform that the defeat was “fully emblematic of what is happening to … our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden.

“Many of our players were openly hostile to America — No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.”

The “nice shot, Megan” comment references Rapinoe’s missed penalty kick against Sweden.

Rapinoe and Trump long have feuded. In 2019, she refused to visit Trump’s White House after the U.S. won the World Cup.

In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBTQ rights and took a knee during the Star-Spangled Banner in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement in 2016.

Over the past decade, Trump has taken shots at the NFL, the NBA, the PGA Tour, and Hollywood in an attempt to score cheap political points with his MAGA base.

Obviously, he’s not changing tactics while he awaits the outcome of his three criminal indictments and campaigns for the Republican presidential nomination.
