He’s a now second-year medical student at the CHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and a first-generation Punjabi-American who plans to treat patients in the Valley when he becomes a doctor.
Johal spoke about how receiving the 6th annual Ignite the Future scholarship helped him fulfill his passion to attend medical school in the same community he grew up in. Coming from a family of generational farmers, Johal plans to continue his path in medicine and bridge the generational and economic gap within the health system.
