Original story

A second K9 with a Valley law enforcement agency has gone missing inside of a week.

The Reedley Police Department says that Kona, a 10-year-old German Shepherd, escaped his handler’s garage in Visalia on Tuesday night after apparently getting upset by the sound of fireworks.

The canine had a tracker on its collar, which led the officers to the 14000 block of Avenue 280 outside the Visalia city limits. However, the tracker had come off the dog’s collar and the search continues.

Kona, who weighs 80 pounds, has a sable-colored coat and wears a black flat nylon collar with no other identifiable tags. He is described as well-trained, social, and even-tempered.

Anyone who sees Kona is asked to contact the Reedley Police Department immediately at (559) 637-4250. The public is asked not to approach or try to handle Kona.

Odin Quickly Reunited With Handler

Odin, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois weighing 75 pounds, went missing from his Madera County deputy handler’s Fresno home sometime in the wee hours Sunday morning.

By Sunday evening, he was back with the sheriff’s office after being found playing with a German Shepherd in the back of a woman’s home.
