Kaepernick Again Seeks NFL Return, Urges Teams to Overlook Politics

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has been unsigned since 2016, is still hoping for a chance to return to the NFL.

Kaepernick, who protested police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem, has been working out regularly and wants teams to put aside their “political bias” and judge him based on his playing ability.

“I’m going to keep pushing,” Kaepernick said.

“I’m going to keep fighting for it because I know I can step on the field and play. Every workout, every opportunity I’ve had to show that, the feedback has always been positive. Everything from, ‘he’s still an elite player,’ to ‘the workout was great; it was better than expected.'”

Despite a successful workout with the Raiders last year, he has received no offers. Kaepernick, who led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012, has kept busy by publishing a children’s book and creating a Netflix documentary about his life.
