In a recent interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his thoughts on Donald Trump, the state of the nation, and his own political aspirations.

Ineligible to Run for President

Schwarzenegger indicated that he would have run for president in 2016 if he were eligible, and he believes the field is wide open now. He emphasized the need for a candidate who can bring people together and move away from the current trend of voting against someone rather than for them.

Addressing the January 6th Insurrection

Schwarzenegger also addressed his comparison of the January 6th Capitol Riot to Kristallnacht, the Nazi attack on Jewish people in 1938. He maintained that it is a fair comparison due to the threat to democracy and the impact of lies on people. He acknowledged his prediction that Trump would become irrelevant may not have been accurate at the time, but still believes it will eventually come true.

Doubts About Trump Winning in 2024

When asked about the possibility of Trump being elected a second time, Schwarzenegger expressed doubt, stating that he doesn’t think it will happen due to the need for swing voters and independents to win the 2024 election.

The Rise of Hate and Anti-Semitism

Discussing the rise of hate and anti-Semitism, Schwarzenegger called for people to come together and respect one another as human beings, regardless of their differences. He also touched on the importance of focusing on pollution as a more immediate and relatable issue than climate change.
