Credentialed speech-language pathologists in Fresno Unified School District are getting raises under a side-letter agreement announced Thursday by the district.
The pilot salary schedule negotiated by the Fresno Teachers Association and the district is retroactive to Feb. 1 of this year, the district said in a news release.
Under the agreement, salaries range from $87,292 at level 1 to $135,000 at level 15. And, if at least 27 speech-language pathologists are hired by Fresno Unified by June 30, 2026, the new salary schedule will become permanent.
Pathologists work with students who have speech, hearing, or language challenges.
“We are pleased to have reached a side letter agreement on an increase for our speech-language pathologists, who are an invaluable support and resource for our students,” said Superintendent Bob Nelson. “In this highly competitive career field, we want to be able to attract and retain the best professionals for our students.”
The district said that interested candidates can apply online at this link.
